The Future of Insulation
A team at...ETH Zurich in Switzerland has devised a method to produce lightweight porous foams from a variety of industrial waste. The researchers, who have since launched the external page(ETH Spinoff) company FenX, first experimented with fly ash—a byproduct of coal-fired power plants—blended and aerated into a meringue-like state...Energy-wise, the new insulation has a minimal carbon footprint, as no heat and very little power are required for its manufacture.call_made
